July 29 My Country HouseMy Country House
I chose this house way out of town,
Away from noise and local bars, Close to the mountains and river too, I wave to people passing by in cars. Success is measured by the folks you know,
Age is nothing more than a state of mind, This is my little piece of Heaven on earth, A treasure some people never find. When my journey has come to an end,
Only memories and photos will remain, Of me holding the hands of my children, As we walk down this old country lane. You may hear my voice whisper in the leaves,
Or smell my perfume floating on the breeze, This old house will always feel like home to me, I've planted each flower and the trees.
My little country house with a porch swing,
The past and present intermingle in the air, The best days of my life have been spent here, I still tend to her with gentle loving care. © Dianna Doles Petry
